Can a common framework across disciplines be developed? How?
A great strength of the emerging field of collective intelligence is that investigations are going on in a large number of very diverse disciplines. The fact that this is so suggests that perhaps there may be some common underlying principles in many living systems. So it might be helpful to establish a shared paradigm with explanatory value across multiple levels in domains. On the other hand, there is the danger of mixing apples and oranges, ants and academics. So, where are the commonalities and where are the differences? How should we proceed?
